Large Smuggle Gates

Create Large Smuggle Gates. These should link to distant low sec pockets, can be used as massive short cuts through the Eve universe.

Edit (21-july-2010): Removed scanning requirement

Fixing Piracy and FW in one go!

The problems with low sec Lack of a unique resource Low number of people Non profitable for corporations 2 different, non relate, crowds using the same space (FW and Pirates) My solution is to expand the FW to include the pirate factions that we have in-game. Players will be allowed to join Sanshas, Blood Raiders, etc... And this factions will fight for the control of systems in LS. Here come in play the unique new ...more »

Cumulative GCC

Rather than a straight reduction in the criminal countdown, I'd suggest a cumulative GCC: 2 minutes for initial aggression, add 5 minutes for ship destruction, then add another 8 minutes for podkilling. This would facilitate solo roaming (no more getting stuck in one system because you had to disengage when your target's backup arrived and now don't have enough buffer left to withstand a volley from the gateguns) and ...more »

Create Lawbringer and Pirate Haven Systems

Right now there is nothing to being a pirate or anti-pirate other than your security status and how you describe yourself. We should take this a step further. Create scattered systems throughout lowsec that are either Lawbringer Haven's or Pirate Haven's. You will not be allowed to enter these systems unless your security status is +2.5 or higher or -5.0 or lower, respectively. These systems will provide a place where ...more »

Reduce GCC timers to 5 minutes

GCC and timers should be immediate and short term penalties, not long term time-sinks that cripple pilots from moving around for a quarter of an hour.

Tags -> Pirate LP -> BPC

Pirate factions give LP for navy & concord tags. This LP can be used in their LP store for implants and T1 & pirate faction BPCs.

These BPCs, with already perfect ME & PE, can then be used to produce ships and items, in Pirate NPC stations and in low sec POSes.

Calling For Help

I wrote this up originally as a comment on http://criminallowsec.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Low-Sec--The-Backround--gameplay--items-and-thoughts./61081-9665 The idea is that right now, lowsec is the worst-of-both-worlds. There is the lack of protection offered by nullsec, combined with the security penalty of aggressing in high sec. That you might get dinged for attacking is just not enough of a deterrent for real pirates, ...more »

Old time religion

3. Monasteries ============= The Amarr are deeply religious as well as conservative. It is likely that they wouldn't take kindly to unorthodox interpretations of their doctrine. In the past, this may have led to charges of heresy, blasphemy, etc. However, instead of the Amarr banishing these zealots (as they banished the Khanids), they might just have them settle at the low-sec edge of their empire. (e.g. like Pilgrims.) ...more »

Low to High Gates

This is a redo of an earlier idea, based on comments. Low sec gates going into high sec (only those) are guarded by empire navy. (they may not leave the grid) This will lure more people to low sec. But there is also a benefit for Pirates as a coordinated pirate corp can kill these navy ships and loot their wrecks for rare components and tags. After some time replacement ships along with reinforcements (who may leave ...more »

Overhaul everything

First make it to where there has to be several jumps between high sec and null. Right now many alliances use gates that jump from high sec to null. If there were at least 4 jumps between high sec and null it would give low sec some importance overnight. Second make low sec have diminishing security. (Example) .4 system has 2 guns on the gate and 3 on a station .3 system 1 gun on a gate and 2 on a station .2 system ...more »

Bounty System

Bounty System Why it doesnt work : The person you put the bounty on wants to get podded to recive the payout from a buddie. How to fix : Make it so that whoever has the bounty does not want to be killed. Do this by adding a penalty for having one's corpse turned into the bounty office. Such as concord disabling all implants from functioning on the character for 60 days. Or a temporary reduction in attributes for ...more »
