Pirate, smuggler, etc. rigs

How about some lowsec-specific rigs that might encourage people to take a few more risks in lowsec?

- Escape pod reinforcement rig

- Warp core stabilizer rig

- Booby-trap rig (triggers smart bomb on ship death)

- Cargo security rig (ensures that no cargo drops on ship death, and/or a version that ensures that all cargo drops)

Some/all of these rigs could be contraband in highsec.

New Pirate-Empire faction warfare

Expand "sponsored" NPC warfare in lowsec with player involvement. Basic principle is low sec is a battleground between empires and their related pirate organizations contesting for control. Set aside couple of 50~60 system clusters in low sec and declare them "war staging zones", like 30 systems controlled by 1 Empire NPC entities and 30 controlled by 1 Pirate NPC entities. Players can Choose to join in sides much like ...more »

Ships

Combat Miner

Make a new ship:

The lo-sec miner.

I envision a "drake", in a gas cloud, armed to the teeth with 6 missile launchers(hams, hml or assault), 1 bonused mining laser of appropriate type and a core probe launcher.

Mids are filled with epic tank and a point.

lows are 3 bcu's.

dronebay is filled with shieldbots.

There's 10 of them in that cloud. And in comes the pirates.

NPC Criminal Stations

Criminal Stations, this is low sec after all. Station sentry guns will only fire in self defense, e.i. if the station itself is fired on. These stations could be places that would allow illegal production and have LP like stores that would give out unique items exclusive to low sec.

Low Sec Grids

In high sec, factions have enforced systems. In null sec there are no enforced spaces. Low sec is where factions clash. No faction can dominate the system, but they should try. In such a situation factions should ruthlessly enforce their rules in their grids. For instance a NPC pirate station: If one shoots in the grid then they are shot by the station and its defenders. Factions should not accept hostilities on their ...more »

Ships

Pirate Faction for all!

Everybody loves pirate faction ships, right? What if we implemented a system similar to tech 3 ships that involves using salvage/hacking items that can only be found in Low-sec plexes. This would require people who build those ships to either plex in low-sec or buy from people who do.

Ships

Mysterious Q-ships

6. Q-ships ========= These would be ships developed in -secret research facilities- found only in Low-sec, possibly even in a deadspace complex. First developed in WW2, a 'Q-ship' is essentially a battleship disguised as a merchant ship. When the enemy goes to engage the ship, -surprise-! How would this benefit low-sec? Well, the various factions could be developing these ships for use in Faction warfare, and testing ...more »

Make FW influence FW-stations

Right now, the factional warfare corporations (24th, TLF...) have various stations in their respective low-sec areas, which contain only the fw-missions-agents. I would like to propose some changes to put these stations deeper into FW 1) every system with a fw station loses its control bunker, instead the station will be attacked if the system is vulnerable (of course no changes to shield/armor) 2) enemy pilots are ...more »

Theme not cliche

Stop with idea that low sec is only pirates. Just because people like to pvp in low sec doesn't mean they only want to gank noobs in pve fits. Its just a good way to pvp without the bubbles and blobs of null sec. Low sec is/can be several things: 1)Low sec is NOT where empire meets null sec. It is the front line for the major empire wars. (Null sec BTW is of no interest to the 4 major empires) 2) Because its a literal ...more »

My Low-Sec My Rules

My Low-Sec My Rules (ML-S-MR) I’ve read a number of the posts here and for the most part I can only fathom that most of them are written by hi-sec carebears who want to exploit greater wealth in greater security, with greater CONCORD protection. Screw you. As a permanent inhabitant of a low sec region, I patrol it regularly for the wayward carebear (bear) who feels that he’s bold enough to exploit the regions wealth. ...more »
