Moving Signatures

My thinking is getting more traffic (not solely pvp) through lowsec could cure alot of problems associated with being there. Aside from FW which has been discussed at great length I've been kicking around an exploration idea that could be implemented in lowsec & nullsec. (there's no real reason why it'd be unavailable in Hisec but if the rewards were significantly better without concord protection, it'd encourage more ...more »

Market & Industry

Trading + DUST 514

Besides the coolness of having smuggling just in EVE (e.g. boosters), let DUST 514 have a market for powerful items that can be bought for a price on a player black market. These items can somehow be manufactured or otherwise procured only in lowsec, and then sold at lowsec stations which connect to DUST. Examples: - Combat boosters - Formal bounty contracts, which can be traded - Pirate faction armor/weapons/ammo: think ...more »

Mafia fashioned low-sec

My vision. Broad strokes mind you, numbers mean balancing and we are nowhere near far enough along for that (posted in F&I: http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1501092) Low-sec (LS) is the flaccid organ of Eve. It is a strange place composed of bits of high-sec and null-sec with no real identity of its own. Enough is enough, time we brought the low back to low-sec! NOTE: This a Vision™ thread, ...more »

Low Sec changes

I like many others think Low Sec isn't broken so much that its a perception issue preventing it from being populated. A thought I had on this would be to increase the travel through it by making it less risky. If the gate gun damage was increased by a large amount eliminating small gate camps. It would take many more ships to have a successful gate camp. A gate camp in Low Sec would be very rare but not impossible. ...more »

Bounty System

Bounty System Why it doesnt work : The person you put the bounty on wants to get podded to recive the payout from a buddie. How to fix : Make it so that whoever has the bounty does not want to be killed. Do this by adding a penalty for having one's corpse turned into the bounty office. Such as concord disabling all implants from functioning on the character for 60 days. Or a temporary reduction in attributes for ...more »

Low Sec Missions

Ya just going to point out the true but old point again. Low sec had lots of targets when they got mission protection. Just put some old school mission protection back in place in low sec and watch it come back to life again. Beyond that your just going to keep adding content for the same people that are already there. And if thats not cool then it's just the same old let the pirats keep what they cryed so long and ...more »

A few ideas for low sec

Low sec needs pirates like corn flakes need milk but…. I am currently formulating a proposal for correcting some of the issues in low sec. A little about myself for context, I have been playing since 2006, I have several accounts, done just about everything in the game, cap ships fights, worm holes, blob fleets, small gang warfare etc. Recently I returned to low sec as a solo player and I love every minute of it. Yet, ...more »

Understanding low-sec as a failed ecosystem and why increasing r

This idea is less a suggested fix than a model of low-sec that will help people understand the larger ramifications of a lot of the other suggestions that have been made. There is a suggested fix included here as well. Anyways, enjoy: The problems with low-sec can be understood as a failure of the ecosystem. The ecosystem of low-sec is composed of 3 primary characters 1) Pirates (Generally hostile PvP fit ships) ...more »

Prison systems- Work farms

I saw this idea on the EVE forums, as a suggestion for an overhaul to the Bounty system. It was first suggested in 2004. I'm adding on to the idea. The idea was that when someone with a low-security rating and a bounty was podded, that their clone was automatically re-animated in a special 'prison system', or deadspace complex. These deadspace rehabilitation centers are illegal cloning stations which have been taken ...more »

Bounty-Kill right overhaul

A more reasonable overhaul to bounty mechanic: 1. Change the way bounties are rewarded. If a player has bounty on his head, then the ship he flies in gain a bounty instead of his pod. 2. Make this bounty gain related to ship size. A frigate class will only have 50k bounty, a cruiser class 1m bounty, BC 10m, BS 30m. The amount is subtracted from total bounty every time such ship is destroyed. So, if a player has 300m ...more »

New Pirate-Empire faction warfare

Expand "sponsored" NPC warfare in lowsec with player involvement. Basic principle is low sec is a battleground between empires and their related pirate organizations contesting for control. Set aside couple of 50~60 system clusters in low sec and declare them "war staging zones", like 30 systems controlled by 1 Empire NPC entities and 30 controlled by 1 Pirate NPC entities. Players can Choose to join in sides much like ...more »
