Pirate, smuggler, etc. rigs

How about some lowsec-specific rigs that might encourage people to take a few more risks in lowsec?

- Escape pod reinforcement rig

- Warp core stabilizer rig

- Booby-trap rig (triggers smart bomb on ship death)

- Cargo security rig (ensures that no cargo drops on ship death, and/or a version that ensures that all cargo drops)

Some/all of these rigs could be contraband in highsec.

  1. A few more (anti-)pirate themed rigs...

    The "Cutthroat" line dramatically reduces locking time on capsules, for those pirates who are just bastards.

    The "Lead Box" line reduces the results returned by ship and cargo scans.

    The "Mule" line reduces the chances of customs detecting your drugs.

    Booby trap

    Cutthroat

    Lead Box

    Mule -- tho they'd need to bring back smuggling as a profession, all that code/stuff is old and dysfunctional

    Me no likey:

    Escape Pod reinforcement (tho unclear what the idea is)

    WCS rig -- seems unnecessary, tho no huge problem i guess

    Cargo security -- i don't see the need to tamper with drop mechanics

  4. I am not too sure about the suggestions in the OP. They seem to be all about making low sec safer and nerfing pirates income.

    Do we want to make low sec safer? Do we want to discourage pirates or piracy in general? Low sec would be a much worse place if these are our goals.

    Some of the rigs may have an interesting application, and there was the sugestion that they are contraband in highsec, so I will hold off on my vote (leaning towards the thumbs down) untill I see where this discusion is headed.

  5. Like the idea of smuggler's rigs (Lead box, Mule). Seems like this could be beneficial to both pirates and others. Even pirates need supplies and contraband. Although contraband is a bit of weak subject in-game currently.

    Escape pod rig? (not really tied into Low Sec)

    Maybe it ejects your escape pod a specific distance from your ship/wreck. Upon ejecting from your ship, your pod is ejected 50km forward of the direction your ship was facing? Not sure how functional it would be, but could make things interesting.
